Front Porch Ministry:
This is a companionship ministry for our homebound church members. Gone may be the days when families sit out on the front porch swing to talk about life, but Elder Care volunteers understnad the need to stay connected with family and friends. These volunteers minister to our seniors by making regular visits in their homes and finding other ways to help seniors feel connected to our church.
Respite Care Ministry:
This is a ministry to our members that often comes at a time when they need it the most. For some it may be to help in a home while one of our members convalesces following a surgery; for others it may be to sit with a member which allows the primary caregiver time away from the home; for others it may be to provide a trip to the doctor or hairdresser or grocery store or pharmacy. But in every case it is one of our volunteers showing the love of Christ to others at their point of need.
Assisted Living Ministry:
Calvary has several small ministry teams which go into area assisted living communities to provide church services for the residents. Volunteers help transport patients, lead music, share devotionals and simply spend time enjoying the seniors who look forward to this highlight in their week.
Valet Parking:
Calvary now offers valet parking to our members that are at least 70 years young and/or have a handicap placard. Those interested in our valet parking ministry need to be in the circle driveway near the main lobby entrance with their cars between 8:00 and 8:30 am on Sundays. Valet volunteers drive the cars to a designated area at the Skatehaven parking lot. At about 11:00, a volunteer meets our members in the lobby and helps them board a bus and transports them to the Skatehaven lot. We’d love for you to join us as a volunteer on any Sunday morning.

Bible Fellowship Needs:
Teacher: Involves the willingness to spend time each week preparing the lesson. Also, oversee the class group structure. Senior Adult teachers must have a desire to invest themselves in the lives of the Senior Adults. Time commitment: 6-8 hours per week.
Assistant Teacher: Responsible for teaching the lesson when the lead teacher is absent. The goal of the assistant is to become a new teacher in the future. Time Commitment: 2-4 hours a week.
Secretary: Responsible for making sure accurate records are kept each week. Time Commitment: 1 hour a week.
Outreach Leader: Responsible for coordinating members to contact guests who visit their Bible Fellowship Class. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week.
Prayer Sponsor: Responsible for keeping the prayer needs of the class before the Bible Fellowship members. Time Commitment: 1 hour a week.
Care Group Leader: Responsible for assisting the lead teacher and assistant teacher for the personal and spiritual care of the members of the class. Time Commitment: 2-4 hours a week.
Activity Transportation Assistants: Drivers are needed for many Senior Adult Activities. Some vehicles require a CDL license but mostly what is needed is a love for senior adults and an interest in various activities. Time Commitment: varies depending on the activity.
Senior Adult Transportation Assistants: Drivers are needed to transport Senior Adults to and from Sunday activities and personal activities like doctor’s appointments, errands, etc. Time Commitment: varies depending on your availability.
